Kelompok perlakuan diberi jus mentimun 200gr selama 7 hari setiap pagi hari, sedangkan kelompok kontrol hanya rutin meminum obat sesuai standart pengobatan dari puskesmas. ABSTRACT

A medical condition in which the blood pressure on the artery walls is persistently high and can lead to a variety of serious health problems, such as kidney problems, stroke, and heart disease, is hypertension. Effective blood pressure control involves a combination of lifestyle changes, medication, and regular monitoring. Herbal complementary therapy that is often consumed by hypertensive clients is star fruit, avocado leaves, celery leaves, and cucumber. The purpose of the author's research is to determine the effectiveness of cucumber juice on blood pressure in hypertensive clients. The design of this study was Quasy experiment (pre-post test with control group), a sample of 36 people containing the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group was given 200gr cucumber juice for 7 days every morning, while the control group only routinely took medicine according to standard treatment from the health center. Data collection using blood pressure observation sheet. Data analysis used Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann-Whitney Test.  The results showed that the mean blood pressure in the treatment group before the intervention was 150.56/95.56 (SD=9.218/8.024), and after the intervention was 128.06/80.00 (SD=6.673/5.941). The mean blood pressure of the control group before intervention was 148.33/87.22 (SD=8.575/8.085) and after intervention was 142.22/88.33 (SD=10.603/6.860). Giving cucumber juice effectively reduces blood pressure in hypertensive patients (p = 0.001 <0.05). Giving cucumber juice can be used as an alternative therapy to reduce high blood pressure.
